First Week of Second Semester College

I still can't quite grasp the fact that school has already started. I'm still in that I'm-so-lazy-still-wanna-stay-up-late kinda phase. As you know, first week of school just ended for me, and it feels like my classes haven't really started on the important stuff yet. I still need to get my hands on used books, but it's just so hard to find one. This semester, I'm taking up Math, Psychology, Interpersonal Communication (phew...that's a mouthful), and P.E.(I know, I know..why am I taking PE when I'm majoring in Nursing. Well, sad to say, it's a requirement. I'm actually taking Aerobics..not the ordinary PE.). All of my classes are requirements for Nursing. Anyways, I did have fun in some of my classes because my friends were there (we talked about our schedules and took the same classes!!). So far, my classes show no signs of difficulty. Maybe, this semester I won't have a hard time....except maybe for MATH!! I had a few arguments with my mom because I found out that I only have 10 units/credits/hours in total, and I never realized till it was too late. She did lecture and scolded me a little because I had to be a full time student to get into her insurance, and full time here is 12 units max. So, yeah I thought of registering for one more class, but it was too late. Final registrations were due days ago. I guess I'll just have to wait what the results are going to be. First week of this semester was a bit fast. I saw new and old faces. MORE PEOPLE!!!! it's so crowded in that school. They actually call that place PCP (park...class..park) get it? it's where people go and park..take their class..and just leave. It's not really a campus. It's more like an office building with empty rooms fit for 30+ people. The good thing here is that people care. Unlike universities, most people don't care if you pass or not, go to class or not, do your projects and homeworks or not, take your test or not. Here, they monitor you. Help you in every way possible in order to pass the class. I know it can be a little bit invasive, but it helps sometimes. Community colleges are like that here, and there a lot cheaper with the same quality of education you can find in a university. I know, I know that one day I'm also going to transfer to a 4 year university, but I can't help thinking that some of the professors in my class were actually professors in previous universities. Anyways, why in the world am I getting to this topic?? I should be just talking about my first week. I guess that wraps it up. I'm out of words now. I'm just thinking that I'm so bored maybe I should get out and go to the mall or something. So...that's it I guess

Sitting in the Rain (old post)

It's October 14, 2008, 10:00a.m. I'm sitting here in a bench outside my school. My next class starts at 11, and I didn't bother to drive all the way home because it's just a waste of gas and money. Besides, I live so close I can walk to school. It has been raining for quite a while now. I sat here since the rain started pouring down. The rain just kept pouring down. I can't deny, though, that I keep giggling when I see people run towards the door. Not one of them carry an umbrella with them. People don't seem to like using an umbrella. I mean an umbrella won't hurt anybody. I can just see so many people running and power walking just to get to their cars. I noticed that the only people who had umbrellas with them were the WISE old people. The weather was so obvious that it was going to rain. I just don't understand why some people are too stubborn to bring a measly umbrella.
I'm listening to my IPod right now. I've been laughing so hard just looking at people running back and forth. I watched the rain pour and tinkle down the roofs of cars, trees, and apartments. From my view, the rain drops looked like semi-transparent, long needles. The thunder sounded like it was gurgling, and the lightning looked like flashes of digital cameras. As I listen to my music continuously, I noticed the rain dispersed like a blink of an eye, and the sun slowly creeped out behind the dark, ominous cloud. Then again, I guess I spoke too soon. By the time the skies cleared, rain poured again. It looked like someone turned the shower on and off that day. Then, the skies started to clear up again; the skies got a little brighter, but the weather felt so muggy, sticky, and misty. The thunder silenced, but roared again as I wrote this journal.
I felt bored, and I thought it would be fun to write about the rain while waiting for my history class. I am not really a sociable person. So, I spent my time writing or listening to music. Sometimes, I just patiently wait for a friend of mine to tag along with me. Anyways, it's 10:24a.m., and I just realized I spent half of my free time writing, which is good. The rain just keep popping in and out. I still see people walking through the rain without a care in the world. As for me, I'm still writing and listening to music at the same time. I keep smelling that burnt out cigarette to my left side, and it's annoying the heck out of me. The rain stopped momentarily...and there it goes again. I guess I'll stop right here. It's 10:33a.m. I'll just spend my last 12 minutes playing games on my IPod. I'm off, and I hope you guys enjoyed this amateur-ish journal of mine.
